EAST POINT, Ga. – Sept. 12, 2003 – South Fulton Medical Center today announced the appointment of Roland Cruickshank as the new chief operating officer of the facility. Cruickshank, whose appointment is effective immediately, will be responsible for operational activities and physician relations at the hospital.
Cruickshank, 31, comes to South Fulton Medical Center after serving in executive management at HCA Healthcare Corporation’s Southeast Division office. In this position, Cruickshank was responsible for developing the office’s capital expenditure request, as well as identifying the radiology needs of the hospitals within HCA’s Southeast Division. Prior to that, Cruickshank was the chief operating officer at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newman, Georgia. Cruickshank also served as the associate administrator at Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

Cruickshank holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the Medical University of South Carolina, which also is in Charleston.
South Fulton Medical Center, a 392-bed acute care hospital, is part of Tenet Georgia. In addition to emergency care, the hospital offers cardiac care, physical and occupational rehabilitation, inpatient oncology, ambulatory surgery, and labor and delivery.
