The Joint Replacement Center provides joint replacement surgery in an atmosphere of wellness. The goal of the Center is to provide quality, patient-focused medical care while enhancing patient satisfaction. Through patient education and interaction with dedicated staff, patient expectations about surgery and recovery are clearly communicated. Patient education videos, written materials, educational wall displays, positive reinforcement by the physician and joint replacement team in an environment of "wellness" to promote a speedy and successful recovery. The Joint Replacement Center is a four-bed dedicated unit with a multi-purpose room designed to encourage patient group dynamics. Prior to surgery, patients receive group preoperative instruction and testing. Group exercise sessions begin on the second postoperative day. The team's goal is to discharge the patient with the best outcome possible.
