Donates To Local Charities

EAST POINT, Ga. – South Fulton Medical Center is pleased to announce that it has donated $38,000 to local charitable organizations over the past six months.

Through the Tenet Healthcare Foundation, South Fulton Medical Center has contributed monies to the Tyrone Youth Baseball Association for three automatic defibrillators, Christian City for use towards transportation needs for its Children’s Services, Conely Hills Elementary School, East Point Community Action Team and St. John the Evangelical Catholic School for the purchase of an automatic defibrillator.

“Through the Tenet Healthcare Foundation, we strive to improve the lives of people in our communities by primarily funding local charitable organizations that address the unmet health care needs,” said Christopher Hummer, chief executive officer, South Fulton Medical Center. “These organizations exemplify the spirit of the mission, values and vision of South Fulton Medical Center.”

In March 2004, South Fulton Medical Center and Tenet Healthcare Foundation donated $25,000 to Southside Medical Center’s newest location on Cleveland Avenue. That money will help fund the purchase of an ultrasound machine to care for obstetric and gynecological patient seeking services at that clinic.

Since 2001, Tenet Healthcare Foundation has donated more than $116,000 to local charitable organizations on behalf of South Fulton Medical Center.

South Fulton Medical Center, part of Tenet Georgia, is a 392-bed acute care community medical center located off I-85 South at 1170 Cleveland Avenue in East Point, Ga.
