Eleanor Post Named Chief Nursing Officer

EAST POINT, Ga. – South Fulton Medical Center today announced the appointment of Eleanor T. Post as the new chief nursing officer of the facility.  Post, whose appointment is effective July 24, will be responsible for all nursing activities at the hospital.

Post, 55, comes to South Fulton Medical Center after serving as assistant administrator for patient care services at Atlanta Medical Center.  In this position, she managed strategic planning, development and operations for surgery, medical/surgical services, emergency services, intensive care and women’s services.  Prior to that, Post served as director of critical care and trauma services at Atlanta Medical.

Post has nearly 35 years in the healthcare profession including serving as a staff nurse, nurse manager, clinical instructor and quality assurance coordinator.

“We are quite pleased to have Ellie join our administrative team at South Fulton Medical Center,” said James Clements, interim chief executive officer at South Fulton Medical Center.  “Ellie has a solid background in nursing and in healthcare management.  She will be an asset for South Fulton Medical Center, as well as for East Point and the surrounding communities.”   

Post holds an associate’s degree in nursing from Staten Island College in Staten Island, N.Y., and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Wagner College in Staten Island. She received her master’s degree in nursing from New York University in New York City.
