Diabetes affects nearly 21 million people in the United States. Of this 21 million, more than six million don’t even know they have the disease. South Fulton Medical Center recognizes the importance of educating the public about diabetes and what can be done to decrease its potential as a serious life threat.
The American Diabetes Association offers a free online risk analysis to help you determine whether you might be at risk for diabetes. To take the test, click here.
You also should talk to your doctor about whether you might be at risk for diabetes.
If you know that you have diabetes, South Fulton Medical Center offers the Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) program. The DSME program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association for meeting National Standards for DSME programs. We offer management education to adults with Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes.
Group Classes are held every Tuesday from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
DSME program instruction is provided by a Board Certified Diabetes Educator who is a Registered Nurse along with a Registered Dietitian.
