Intensive and Coronary Care Services
South Fulton Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU) treat critically ill patients.
Specially trained registered nurses provide care for these units. Patients who are admitted to one of the critical care units are constantly monitored and are given concentrated nursing care.
Visitor Guidelines for Critical Care Areas
Family and friends are an important part of any patient’s recovery. However, the patients in our critical care units need periods of uninterrupted rest so that they can conserve their strength and receive the extra care they need. To make their recovery as comfortable as possible, we ask that you follow these guidelines:
-
Please limit the number of visitors.
-
Flowers, plants, food and other personal items are not permitted in the patient’s room except those items that are used for personal hygiene.
-
Children should not visit patients in the critical care areas. Exceptions may be made for extraordinary circumstances, but please consult with the patient’s nurse.
-
If possible, designate one person from your family to serve as the primary contact for others.
Our goal is to help your loved one receive the best possible care. If you have questions, please ask.
