South Fulton Medical Center (SFMC) was recognized in the November 2008 issue of Atlanta Magazine as one of Atlanta’s Top Hospitals. The Atlanta Magazine ratings by procedure, which were generated by HealthGrades, listed SFMC for its five-star ratings in Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Hip Fracture Repair and Pancreatitis. According to Atlanta Magazine, the HealthGrades quality ratings published in the article are 2009 ratings, “derived from Medicare inpatient data from the MedPAR database using 2005 through 2007 data. Hospitals only receive ratings for procedures or diagnoses if they treat at least 30 cases over a 3-year period, including at least 5 in the most recent year of data.”
