South Fulton Medical Center (SFMC) announces the appointment of James M. Freemont, MD, MHA, as President of the Hospital’s Medical Staff. Among his many roles, Dr. Freemont will serve as key liaison between the Medical Staff, the hospital administration and the Governing Board.
“I have a strong, vested interest in this Hospital,” says Dr. Freemont. “South Fulton Medical Center’s reputation has grown in such a positive way over these last few years as evidenced by the fact that we’ve won several hospital awards and have increased patient services. In addition, the facility has been upgraded through extensive renovations. I plan to help the Hospital continue in this forward movement by increasing the size of the medical staff which will better serve our patients as well as our community at large.”
Dr. Freemont currently has a private practice in obstetrics and gynecology in Atlanta and has been on staff at SFMC for 31 years. He succeeds Dr. Patrick Egbe who served as the Hospital’s past president.
Dr. James Freemont received his medical degree from The Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, where he completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology, and earned a Masters of Health Administration from The University of Phoenix. He earned a BS degree in bacteriology from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA, and completed the Helms Medical Institute course in medical acupuncture and is an associate member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture.
