Sam Crenshaw of 11Alive News to host event sponsored by South Fulton Medical Center
ATLANTA, June 13, 2011- L.E.A.D (Launch. Expose. Advise. Direct.) will hold its second annual Ambassador Signing Day on Monday, June 20th, 2011 in the 755 Club at Turner Field from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. prior to the Braves vs. Blue Jays game. The five young men of the 2011 L.E.A.D. Ambassadors graduating class will share their collegiate commitments at the event.
“As we celebrate the accomplishments of our fourth Ambassador graduating class, we are proud of the continued success of the Ambassador program and these five incredible young men,” said L.E.A.D. Founder and CEO C.J. Stewart. “Despite low graduation rates for African-American males across the state of Georgia, L.E.A.D. Ambassadors have achieved a 100 percent graduation rate. We are excited for our Ambassadors to take the next step in their futures and want to thank South Fulton Medical Center for their support of the L.E.A.D. organization as the Grand Slam title sponsor of the event.”
L.E.A.D. Ambassadors Cedric Daniel, Marvin Goodman, Brandon Sharpe, Desmond Stegall and Kerry Webb have received scholarship offers from schools including:
- Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College
- Alabama A&M, Alabama State University
- Atlanta Sports Academy
- Edward Waters College
- Grambling University
- Selma University
- Southern University
- Winston-Salem State University
The Ambassador program is an elite group of 20 young men who exemplify excellent leadership and character in their communities and have been involved with L.E.A.D. previously. L.E.A.D. uses four pillars of excellence to evaluate their elite Ambassadors: academics, athletics, service/civic engagement, exposure.
